Menzerna 400 / 3500 combo
Been reading good stuff about this combo but when should you use it? Do you use it on only problem areas or entire car before applying wax/sealant?

Re: Menzerna 400 / 3500 combo
I am currently using this combo with my Flex 3401 on my Sapphire Black Metallic BMW. I am an amateur and I am getting very good results. Seems to have a long working time and wipes off easily. The 3500 leaves a very deep shine. I am topping with McKee's paint coating and for me the results have been great. I still have a few RIDS in the paint, but I decided not to go after them. As Mike Phillips says "Clearcoat is THIN!"

I use this combo for my personal car. for some really hammered cars I will just use 400 as it finishes down pretty decent for me. I should mention I use this in my Flex3401 with various pads.

Wow, Andy! that's EXACTLY my routine on my BSM BMW! I do that about once a year to level my paint down after accumulating some swirls and scratches as a daily driver for 11 1/2 months. i also have a few rids here and there i don't chase too thin. I do use it on shallow rids in spots.
Now to answer the original question, FG400 is a fairly aggressive compound and shoul only be used after testing up to it to get the desired results.

Paul, Thanks for the encouragement. I use that combo as it was recommended here for hard BMW paint. As you know, that BSM color is a swirl magnet. Just parking the car in the garage it draws swirls to it from other cars in the neighborhood.

Ha! I know but it looks sooo good after we do it though.

When to use it? When your paint needs correction. When to use the 400? When the 3500 doesn't get the job done.
Use it on the whole car, or to spot treat scuffs. I've done both.

I've used the 400 on a white LC polish pad and am very happy to coat at that point,I haven't noticed much improvement with the second step ,but I have no finishing pads

So if I correct paint with the 400 on areas only needed on one door panel, do I still use the 3500 on the entire car?

What speeds should I be cutting and polishing at with these?
