    I mostly want to know...
    should I use a cleaner and wipe dry
    or
    should I shampoo

    my gut tells me to avoid shampooing as that may create more issues with possible mold

    If it was black coffee it would be easy as it doesn't really stain...

    It's all the junk people put into it that stains.
