it's good to have a variety of different pads and good results can be had from both companies. as far as overall quality, i prefer the b&s pads. i've never had any velcro issues with any of their pads as i've had with the lake country in the past...

I am in the opposite camp. I prefer the Lake Country Pads as the B&S Hex logic pads seem to flatten out sometimes!!! VISITOR, you can be the Celtics I will be the Lakers!!!!....LOL

I do have both and all are good quality overall. It's just a preference and IMO my preference is the LC CCS pads.

IMO Both are excellent products and should be in anyone's arsenal.

No problems with the flat B&S pads here. Like VISITOR I have never had problems with the velcro failing after multiple uses and cleans.

Re: Lake Country Pads vs Buff and Shine Pads

For foam my long-standing go-to is Buff and Shine 5.5" pads. To get the most out of the yellow especially b/c it's so stiff, soak it with hot water and then ring it out. Spin at 3000 rpm on rotary so it's only moist and then use. Why? It takes a pad, which when dry, feels very stiff and unmalleable pad and turns it into a soft, flexible wonder. It does NOT give up any cut doing that either. Try it; you'll thank me, hehehehe.

For wool, Tuf Buff black wool is the undisputed KING!

Re: Lake Country Pads vs Buff and Shine Pads

I use both LC CCS, and Hex Logic which I believe is made by Buff & Shine. They are both star performers. It's weird how I use one maker for one product, and vice versa. For instance, I like cutting with a green Hex Logic, using 105, or UC. The next step is polishing with 205, or UP, where I like the blue Hex, or green CCS. On most of the cars I maintain, SwirlX is what I've been using, where the green CCS is what I favor. I had to do some heavy cutting last month, where I favored the yellow CCS. In all honesty, it's however the mood strikes me. AG gives really good deals on the CCS pads though, and there's a lot of interaction between Lake Country, and their customers on here. Just browse some of the threads to see where they've gone above and beyond to take care of their customers. That is a really big difference maker for me.

Liking my B&S 5.5 flat pads, just simpler and more direct. New DA variable pads look interesting.
