    How well does that 4 3/8" backing plate work with those 5.5" pads? I was going to take my Flex 5.5" backing plate and cut it down to fit 5.5" pads as it seemed the 4 3/8" one was a bit too small.

    With those specific pads it will work fine. They're pretty stiff, so the backing plate won't "sink" into the pad.
