Java - i've let pads soak in an APC/water mix for as long as a week without any problems whatsoever. In a few cases i forgot what i had in that covered pail over there! My only and few issues with delamination was excessive machine heat, never from washing.
In response to the OP, i don't machine wash mine like JSMet*. I can do as good if not better job by hand...quickly. Plus i'm not sure how aggressive my washer is. I just like to keep whatever touches paint for gently used. Of course that excludes MF towels.
* for the love of God, JS, tell me you're not a Mets fan. Die hard BoSox fan here. If you are then i just agreed with a Mets fan. (j/k dood) : )
