    Help with G8 pads

Just got a G8 as a gift and wanted to check in to see what pads (2” and 3”) are working best for correction and polishing. Thanks

    Re: Help with G8 pads

There are many options. I use Lake Country Thin Pro 3.5” as well as some Rupes 4” pads. I have no pads to use with the 2” backing plate.

Any of the Griot's BOSS pads, especially the microfiber pads and the white foam pad for correction work. I use the orange and yellow pads for polishing.

Any of the 3.5" LC ThinPro pads.

Any of the RUPES 2" microfiber pads

For the most part, any thin pad in the 2" to 3.5" will work.

I would have to revisit the RUPES 4" pads but because they have a 3" velcro backing and because the G8 has a lot of power, I'm pretty sure these would work, at least for polishing and waxing. I would have to revisit for correction work to make sure the tool was able to adequately maintain pad rotation.

Right, I have 4" (face size) Rupes yellow pads that I used for polishing and they worked fine. The back of the pad is the exact size for the G8 backing plate. I had no trouble keeping rotation, even with the dial under 5. I still have the pads marked with a sharpie though just so I can monitor rotation
