Removing light scratches from carbon fiber hood

I have a carbon fiber hood with some light scratches from a stupid cat, the scratches isn't deep cause your finger nail can even feel them, I already bought the the ultimate compound and the ultimate polish but I need to know what pad to use for the compound and what pad to use on the polish and should I use a clay bar first before the compound and where to even buy a clay bar, this is my first time attempting this so any help would be greatly appreciated

Its a test where you place a bag over your hand, thus helps you feel the contamination that bare hands can't feel
