This is a Griots Orange pad after 1 pass on clients truck hood.

It was washed using Griots Car wash via foam gun, clay barred (I waiting for my Nanoskin to arrive), M#105 using the Griots orange pad...have you ever had it turn black from all the filth on the paint when using a DA after the earlier steps?

Sure. It's called embedded dirt or paint staining. You'll experience it more where it rains a lot because cars are splattered with road grime which is the water spray coming off the car in front of you. The water off the highway has all the fluids dripped by all the cars driving down the road. Overtime it builds up on the paint.

Here's an example of dirt coming off paint and keep in mind this is after we wiped the paint clean and then clayed the paint to remove above surface bonded contaminants, but look at the color difference in the two pads and the polish we're using is white in color.

Remember how dirty the clay was after claying just one half of the roof? Clay remove ABOVE surface bonded contaminants but it doesn't remove embedded staining of the paint. You can see abrading the paint with a light polish and a microfiber pad has removed the staining effect and restored a very bright and shiny finish.

    WOW that's some serious dirt!

I've seen pads get dirty but I've never had one get like that. I've had a few white pads turn gray
