Stupid question time....I've always used 5.5" pads with my 5" backing plate....which pads do I use...the 5" or 6"?

5.5", you want that extra .5 so it covers the backing plate preventing it from touching the paint.

I use the 5" pads on a 5" backing plate. They kind of compresses a little so it's no problem with them this way. But be carefull to go up on edge or when you go against a high raised body line. If you just have it in mind I have had no problems yet with them. They finishing way much better than I expected from it and still a great çut. Not the highest cut like a mf cutting pad but very close. Awesome pads
