Re: Going to give coatings another try...just bought the WG kit

I will throw my input in here. I just switched from McKee's Coating to WG coating. I would say they both go on quite easy. WG seems to give better feedback as for how much to use. You can tell if you are putting to much on, letting it flash to long etc. WG likes to be used very sparing and the results are great. I would say both products are good, but going forward I will stick with WG. In the end it comes down to the prep. I have never applied either of these products without doing a full color correction, or decon. If you simply wash and decon a car then apply, the results my be different. I always package color correction into my price when coating.

Hey Roger. When you are ready to apply your next coating, let me know. If you are willing to make the 1:45 minute drive, I have some Feynlabs Self heal Lite I'm looking to try, kinda wanted a black car. And you can leave the great state of Wisconsin with some Spotted Cow..

Are you a beer drinker? A beer sold only in Wisconsin. #2 selling beer in the state behind Miller Lite.

Fair enough. But I'm more than happy to do your car to try it out.

Re: Going to give coatings another try...just bought the WG kit

Have you decide what kind of coating you will apply next?

I bought a kit with Polish Angel esclate lotion primer and Master Sealant that is sold on the sister site Like how it's applyied like a sealant. So think as the McKees coating is a great way to do a coating for the first time. And like the little more warmer look that PA master sealant gives. It's as close as a carnuaba wax you can get IMO. The downside is the longevity of it but does it stretch me to a year I will be satisfied with it. And have High Gloss to help it along to do that and on it's own you can get up to 7 months. Then I have different kind of sio2 toppers to experiment with lol.

I see more people to begin to only use a top coating like Gliss or Can Coat as a base protection. What do you think about that? I see that is a good way to go if you want to change products often on the paint.
And I have a sealant that is made for to use as a base protection then apply wax on top. Saw a Youtube video where they used this and cquk and fusso coat and kamikaze coatings. And was very suprised that it came second after cquk in that test. It was a test how it stod up to washes with strong chemicals. The base of this sealant is tio2 and the longevity is not claimed in the description of it. I got it only since it was send to me wrong in an order and they told me to keep it lol

Looking forward to see what you are doing when spring comes. And it's fun to see you test out different products on your cool car.

It's a product not sold here on AG.
