    First cut pad

    I have a 6 1/2 inch velcro backing pad, makita 9227
What do you reccommend for type and size?
Lake country has 71/2 and 81/2 ccs smart pads,
Will the 71/2 fit my plate or do i need the 81/2. .? These are the curved pads

Unless you like a flat pad, then it doesnt matter
This is for the first compound which will be fg400

Or if you like the curved pads, i guess i could just get the 6 or 7 inch lake country backing pad

    Re: First cut pad

It used to depend on the situation for me. Back in the day, I'd buff sanding marks with Megs wool pads. For regular cutting, I used to use the Megs burgundy, with #2.

From the charts I've seen, the burgundy was closest to the Yellow CCS pad.
