    Re: compounds or polish question

I've found Menzerna Fast Gloss 400 Compound (FG400) to work better for me than Meg's 105 which I also have and used.

Menzerna Fast Gloss Compound, Fast Gloss 400, FG400 compound

    From Auto Geek site:

"Cuts like a compound – finishes like a polish!

Menzerna Fast Gloss 400 Compound (FG400) is the long anticipated new compound from Menzerna Polishing Compounds that was designed to deliver the fast cutting action of a compound with the finish and workability of a polish. Menzerna Fast Gloss 400 Compound will quickly become an asset to the professional reconditioning industry with its ability to effortlessly remove 1200 grit sanding marks, heavy scratches, swirls and oxidation on all paint systems while leaving a high gloss finish that is not typically expected from a compound."

Do you know if the Menzerna Fast Gloss can be applied by hand? or wil it only really work with a DA?

Maybe and maybe not. Over a larger area it won't be as aggressive, but in an isolated area you can cut pretty hard. I recommended both because you asked for compound and polish. I would test the area first with 205.
