Need advice on a bumper peeled off paint

Before I go to bed let me post this I got a long day tomorrow.

So a friend of mine gave me a call that her mother end up hitting her front bumper with her rear bumper. They are constantly arguing lol

Anyways she owns a 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe Grey. She wants me to see what can I do to save her a trip to the body shop. I kind of got an idea of how to fix it but I cant really spill it out yet so I am wondering if AG here would help me out. Since my other friend who works in a body shop suggested she gets her whole bumper repaint and he would charge $250, which I find it BS. I know theres a cheaper way around.

Hard for me to tell from the photos if its paint transfer or the paint is gone. If its paint transfer I would use a rotary and wool pad to get it off, then polish it out. If the paint is gone, it needs repainting.

It looks like just some paint transfer, but I would be real careful trying to buff that out as it's on an edge and being plastic.

I though it was paint transfer as well I asked her she said is not. Her mom's car is silver as well and she told me her paint is peeled off. I am sure she knows whats shes telling me since she worked for a collision center for 6 months. If it was paint transfer I know right of the bat how to take care of it. But is definitely paint peeled off. The white stuff at the bottom is the clear coat from the other car thats not a problem for me but the rest it is.

A lot of it has to be transfer cause you can plainly see it right over the light lens too. If it wasn't transfer it wouldn't have gotten on the lens as well.

I'm sure under that transfer are some deep scratches. Like others mentioned...be careful with that corner. When I say be careful...I mean you probably shouldn't even mess with it much since it's been compromised now. I would remove the transfer, and see what you got under there.

I too thought it was paint transfer, as the reflector has also been blackened from there!!

Which is the other car? Maybe it has a hard plastic(bare) bumper!?

I feel stupid now yea your right I think it is paint transfer!! I know what to do now. I am going to remove the black then see what I got under it and come up with a plan to take care of whatever it is under.

Knowing is a corner I will be careful. She said she wants to take care of it around April 1st since is coming out of her pocket. But I am going to see if I order a GG next week I been dying to have one I hear great results of it.

I am going to convince her to do get a Wash, clay and wax and I will also take care of this so it doesn't seem as expensive just to do one thing right. Since she mentions she never done those kind of love giving to the car.

I'm anxious to hear how you get that out. $250 to R and R that bumper doesn't seem that bad. PS Tell her to quit curbing those wheels!
