    Trizact 5000 availability

I see that autogeek has discontinued the Trizact 5000. What is recommended in place of it?
I had been using abralon 1000-2000-3000-4000 but found that Trizact 1500-3000-5000 did a faster job on some hard clear I am working on.
Then using Merzana 400 and finer to finish. (Flex 3401 and 6" wool, then foam pads.)

I've seen it at 'Advance Auto'.

    Re: Trizact 5000 availability

The 5000 grit I am using now is sold at the bodyshop supply store I go to. Pretty expensive stuff, about 2$ for a 3 inch disk. I can't remember what I paid for my Meguiar's Unigrit disks I purchased on Autogeek a few years ago, but the 3000 grit that I purchased here were around the same price I think (but for a box, not individual ones).

    Haven't tried Abralon yet.

I've been told we're going to discontinue the 3M Trizact discs here on the Autogeek.com store.

    Why?

We don't sell much, or any.... people think it's too expensive and it is - thus it doesn't rotate off the shelf, it gets dusty.

I show it in all my classes and will continue to show it but we won't carry it..

I also show Abralon in all my classes, especially the boat class. I "think" I heard we're going to stop selling it too not because it's expensive but because people don't buy it. So it too gets dusty on the shelf.

I've always stated that MOST people shouldn't be wetsanding on cars with factory paint and that's what most people own or work on. The MAJORITY of wetsanding is done on CUSTOM paint.

I have an article on that....
