Wow is right. How long did the trunk take you? Would you have attempted this if it was clear coated?

Thanks fellas, the trunk took me 13 hours to do. Mostly because it took some time and several adjustments in the beginning. Once I got my process down, it really wasn't too bad.
Truth is, the only reason I took this job was because the owner was ready to strip and repaint the entire car just to remove the pinstriping on the louvers. I went into the job knowing he was prepared to repaint the entire car if I wasn't able to effectively remove the pinstripes without also sanding through the base coat.
I definitely feel more comfortable working with single stage paints than I do with base coat clear coat.

Wow!
That would take some patience and meticulous attention to detail!
Pretty cool this guy has someone talented to tackle such a job without burning through all the edges of all the louvers.

Thanks for your response Mike
I actually listened to one of your older 45min. youtube videos on teaching taping techniques while I was taping off the edges on all of the louvers.
I wish you had time to make more long videos teaching proper detailing technique and giving expert tips. If you do have more of those videos laying around I wish you'd post them to the AG youtube channel.
