Possible orange peel
Hi All
Can’t get my head around this one. Had the car painted single stage about a year ago and having had mechanical work done on the car it’s literally been in the garage since it was repainted. Is the wavy look down the side orange peel? or do you think they didn’t block sand the primer before painting. Car panel was not accident damaged, I know as had car since new.
Paint shop has gone bust now so no good if getting them to rectify.
Its odd as you cant see it that much when looking the other way (image 2)
Any input would be great! Thanks!

Right, it is fairly difficult to really judge off a photograph but to me, & in my opinion it looks as if the painter has sprayed the panel a bit too "wet" so to speak, & the paint has kind of sagged a bit. If that is what has happened here, then it is a relatively easy fix with a bit of sanding to level it off & some polishing to bring the shine back.
Keep us up to date with how you proceed on this mate.

Thanks for the response and the welcome!
I will find my paint gauge and see how much I have to play with. You think 1500 grit wet sand would do the job or drop to 1200grit. I used 1200grit on the lower wing to remove some runs this week, then used DA & M105 with good results.
Will post updates soon.
