Hazy/Cloudy Reflections? How to correct?? (Guitar related)

    Hey, guys.

I just received this sweet 1993 S540LTD for a good deal and it's in really good condition. The paint, however, appears to have been resprayed or wet sanded, or? How can I correct this to a clearer reflectivity? The paint seems really flat, so not sure wet sanding is required. Maybe a compound, polish, and wax? I've already tried hitting it with Menzerna 4500, which did nothing. These guitars have thick, poly clear coats.

    Thanks!

Here you can see an area near the upper horn that isn't cloudy.

There is a few possible things, but it is hard detect them just thro pictures.

Surface disturbance depending on primer, it might also be gasboubles making the surface hazy. Wetsanding might do it to level all out and get to " solid " paint. BUT it might also go thro the paint to the primer.

There is a few things along with this as well.
Is it a original paint, the value of the guitar might be higher just leaving it as patina?

If it is a respray? Hit it and see what you can do, if it fails then just respray it?

    Kind regards
    Magnus

I planed on having it sprayed a different color - a bit like sapphire blue - anyway. If it all buffs out, then I'll just leave well enough alone.

Wool pad + Ultimate Compound > Softer Wool pad + Ultimate compound > Orange pad + Ultimate Polish > White pad + Wolfgang TSR > Black pad + Wolfgang Finishing Glaze > Ultimate wax = not perfect, but....

    Nice sunburst!!!! Great work!
What make/model? I had a Pearless that I threw some round wounds on, she sounded fantastic. Was such a "niche" guitar, wished I never sold her.
