    Ohhhh, but yes you can

Never tried it myself, but there are YouTube videos of a gentleman using a rotary to blast window trim from textured to glossy.

As I remember, his specialty is overspray removal.

This sounds weird but CarPro Inside is AMAZING for removing fresh or even old, baked-on, compound or wax residue from textured plastic trim.

Try as I might, it always happens...I have Line-X on the truck bed and sides that extends over the top rails. No matter how careful, I ALWAYS end up kissing the stuff.

That said, I wiped a bit of Meguiar's Ultimate LIQUID Wax over the 'stained' area...May not be gone, but you sure can't see it. Been doing that for, well, since Ult Wax came out.

As they say, your mileage may vary.

Sorry for the slow reply. Been traveling.

I'd be concerned the cleaner would loose the adhesive that is on the film along that edge. I'd prefer an instant detailer and a detail/tooth brush. Only go along the edge - not across it.

Re: How to remove compound/polish from textured plastic rubber moldings ?

I tried the magic eraser and the Wizards trim cleaner separately and then combined together . Was ok but the troubled area either lost the original sheen or lost it's covering after a wash cycle. The Wizards instant detailer worked with MF towel & lots of elbow grease !!! But just ok.
I did pick up the Mequires Deep Clean and was saving that for last .... I really want a solution that leaves the texture back to it's original condition .... So we will see ! I'm in recovery mode today since detailing all weekend has me beat down & sore !

I have high expectations for the deep clean Mequires .
