I'm not sure if this can be considered "new" or not, but since I haven't seen anything posted about it on here...
I have some of CarPro's Denim Orange Peel Pads that I have been using to clear up the orange peel on my 2013 Honda Accord Touring. I'll post another time on my progress on that front, but in the mean time, I have discovered a new use for their pads.
While doing a paint correction on my mom's 2011 Honda Pilot, I came across some spots where touch-up paint had been globbed on a year or two ago. Needless to say, the touch-up paint stood out more than the chips or scratches that were covered up. I had read about damp sanding touch-up paint, and it occurred to me that since orange peel pads were intended to be an alternative to damp sanding orange peel, they'd probably be a good way to smooth out the touch-up paint. I put a 3" denim pad on my 3" GG DA and wen't to work with some Menzerna FG400. After about a minute, using minimal pressure at a speed of 4, the excess touch-up paint was history! My parent's were blown away at how the touched-up area disappeared, and I was blown away by how quick and easy it was to do!
I hope this information helps you with your next detailing job. I have included some before and after pics are below:
