Lightbulb Garden Sprayer instead of Foam Master? Lol

A while ago before i even realized that Autogeek.net existed i saw videos of the foam guns people were using and immediately wanted one. I didn't have money for one at that time so i had a strange idea come to mind.

What if i took a garden sprayer...and put car soap in it instead of plant food!?
So I went to my local Ace Hardware ( great customer service like here ) and i picked up a Gilmour all purpose garden sprayer for $20 bucks. This sprayer dilutes whatever you put in the reservoir with water ranging from 1 teaspoon - 10 tablespoons of product per gallon.

This is a picture of what i got with the sprayer on 1 table spoon per gallon...

And these are images i took today of the actual sprayer with the quick connect installed

This is the mixing head dial with the tsp adapter on top

I think that the advantages the foam master guns have over the garden sprayer is that they aerate the mixture a bit right? plus i think you can take the mixing head off fast to rinse the car. Anyways i just wanted to share this and i was wondering if anyone else had ever tried it?

That is a good idea, I also have seen foam guns at Tractor Supply company. I believe they are the gilmour brand for around $30 to $40.

I was wrong it is EZall brand and it's plastic with a quick disconnect foe $29.99. I think I would rather pay more for a brass unit from AG.

The price of a Foam gun through Autogeek starts around $59.00 so if he got all that for $20.00 I think he's done pretty good.

I agree, no sense in spending twice the amount for something that works just as well.

if he's fine with it then so be it, just saying. sorry, but you can get a foam gun for less than $59 if you look around (there is a difference between the two). for $10 more you can get the one Griots carries for $29.99 and it's basically the same one that Adams is selling now. if you're happy with it, more power to you LOL...

From what i've read the suds in car soap don't have much benefit in lifting dirty. imo your better off with a garden pressure sprayer with ONR, spray let it dwell and either use traditional car wash or an ONR wash.

    It gets the job done

I can also put carpet shampoo in it to spray down the removable carpet mats.
