    Soft Black Paint

I had a funny thing happen last night while working on a black Grand National. The paint is soft, and mars easily. I also am getting paint readings that are lower than I would like to be able to go with a heavier compound.
The past evening, I decided to try something different. I grabbed my Rupes 21, and a Meguiars Micro-Fiber finishing pad with Optimum Hyper Polish. My thought was that I have heard that you can vary the cutting ability of the Hyper Polish with the additional cut of the Finishing Disc without going too heavy. I primed the pad and worked at speed 3 until the polish started to break down. I then left the residue and grabbed a Megs black finishing foam thin disc. I spritz a very small dot of Hyper Polish and then started to work the rest of the residue at speed 3. Last two passes, I dropped to speed 2, and kept my arm speed low.

This combo seems to be the ticket that this car likes. I will take pics of a section giving a before and after and post those later.

Try this combo on your next soft paint to see what you think.

I will try it, Hump, since I have almost all the ingredients mentioned in your recipe.
The only item missing is megs' black thin foam disk, but I'll use something similar.

I am sure you can use another finishing foam.

You could buy it, it is very cheap.
    Hope this helps.
