    Best Practices For Lighting With Paint Correction For Vision

    Hey Guys,

    As with everything its always good to practice safe techniques for longevity of our health. Normally when I use something with high sound like a buffer I like to have my earphones on, however with lightning I have them at a corner lighting the panel during polishing. Is it safe to look at the light? Is there a more cautious method that we can use to prolong our vision long term? Just like a mechanic using jack stands instead of the mechanic lifting the car up with the jack, its a safer method. OR wearing gloves when working dirty. I dont want to kill my eyes at an early age because I wanted the perfect finish, but then I dont want to miss a spot either especially during paint correction.

    I think safety and long term health is always first factor but it doesn't come up much anywhere.

    Feel free to add in some techniques.

    Eye health...

    First:
    Have to take the entire electromagnetic
    spectrum's frequencies into consideration.
    (Of course that includes the frequencies
    of "visible light".)

    Next:
    An understanding that: all "light" is radiation...
    but only certain frequencies can cause harm.

    That is to say:
    The closer it gets to the UV/high-frequency
    end of the spectrum...and beyond...does the
    potential exist to cause damage to the retina.
    The rest of the spectrum doesn’t.

    {Besides that:
    The human eye has a cornea and lens
    that act as built-in light filters.}

    •In conclusion:
    -If a person doesn't stare at a visible light
    source...from just a few inches away...
    for an overextended period of time;

    -takes a "look-away break" every 30-45
    minutes (also helps the entire body to relax);

    -wears corrective lenses (when the need arises);

    -and always dons safety eye-wear; then:

    -their eyes/eyesight should remain healthy
    enough to last their entire intended life-cycle.

    I have the Flex inspection flashlight and couple portable white lights. All of my tool box/bags and locker have safety glasses.
