Meguiars PlastX on gloss black?
I recently purchased some meguiars PlastX to clean up my head unit and speedometer clear plastic.
The bottle says 'clear plastic cleaner & polish'
My question is - would this also be safe to use on gloss black plastic? I'd like to get some light scratches out of my wing mirrors and also the large black trim on the front of my car shown in the picture

Good afternoon , I have used plastX & would continue too how ever have never used it on gloss black / painted plastic but I would not recommend it as it does say on the bottle "do not use on painted or coated plastics" I would recommend you use the product you would use on your paint ex. DA with polish pad & m205.. go more aggressive with pad/product combo if need be.

Re: Meguiars PlastX on gloss black?
For what it's worth, I've used PlastX on a bunch of plastics around the house that are not clear plastic. Lamps, wall thermometers, the outside of plastic kitchen bowls, the list goes on. I've used it on various types/colors of plastic and it works great. Awesome stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to at least try a test spot on most anything plastic. But I would only do it on things that are meant to be shiny (not matte).

try using a polish. IME scratchx leaves some slight/little marring behind on soft/sensitive plastics...

In that case, megs #10 and #17 may be the ticket. Be cautious with touch screens.
