I won't make it to this one. Sucks for me...looks like a nice challenge.

We start in about 8 hours.

I'm going to do a test spot to see what can be done because this paint is in really bad shape.

    Oh my gosh!

It's possible we've bitten off more than we can chew...

I just did a before and after test spot, had to compound the section THREE TIMES wit a wool pad and Meguiar's M100 to get an acceptable finish.

Then Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish and Blackfire Blackwax.

    Hang tight....

Hey to all the guys attending tonight....

Be prepared to do what I call heavy chopping.... that is heavy cutting with rotary buffers and wool pads only we're not buffing.... it's more caveman than that...

For those of you who have chopped a lot of wood in their life, think of taking an axe and chopping wood after splitting up a the larger slabs with a mall and splitting wedge cross cut out of huge Douglas Fir Trees. The slabs are about 2 feet thick and 4-5 feet across.

(I'm from Oregon, we chop wood in Oregon)

I'll be in the garage at 4:30pm getting set-up for anyone that gets here early.

I just posted some pictures of my test spot, the process and what the paint looks like under florescent lights.

If we can bring this Zombie Paint Job back from the dead this will be some real bragging rights....

    Mike,
Do you know what specifically caused all the damage or is it just the result of poor process and products over time? (It looks like someone used a steel wool wash mitt....repeatedly)

Would wet sanding be more efficient in this case versus multiple compounding steps?

    Thanks,
    Randy
