Sign up: Detailing class on how to bring a 1993 Ford Explorer back to life!

DATE: Thursday, August 18th starting at 5:00pm here at Autogeek in Stuart, Florida

    The project?

My co-worker recently purchased a one-owner, "Eddie Bauer" edition 1993 Ford Explorer with only 97,000 miles on it. So it's 23 years old and the original owner only put 4,200 miles on it a year and maintained it and kept all the maintenance records for it at the original dealership where it was purchased. Even better it has recently had the complete air conditioning system replaced and upgraded. (Real important here in South Florida)

    The issue?

She's ugly! By ugly I mean I don't think this car has been washed for months and it doesn't look like it's ever been properly waxed or cared for.

    The solution?

We're going to fire all our rockets at this project and see just how much shine we can squeeze out of what's left.

    Foam Gun Washing

We're going to start with a THOROUGH washing of the exterior including some really cool products making their debut and also showing how to use a Foam Gun.

    Don't be fooled...

I think some people may be very surprised at how a project like this will turn out?

Let's take a trip down memory lane. Here's a similar project with a similar vehicle in similar condition and look at the dramatic before and after results!

Here's a couple of pictures to put this transformation into perspective....

That's exactly whats so enticing/addicting about detailing. The achievable, almost magical results! You really CAN polish a turd, lol.

Mike, that is a 1993, not 2003. Good looking vehicle with low miles. Dont see many of those out there anymore. Looking forward to after pics.

My mistake... I thought Brett said 2003?

    I'll fix it...

I remember working on that Rodeo.Brett`s is`nt that bad.Since I have to work right next to him two days a week perhaps now he will stop complaining about how ugly his car is.I asked him to rub some compound on it to see if it`s SS or B/C as I did`nt notice any C/C failure.Since Brett does`nt visit the forum often I feel compelled to tell you Mike that after it`s detailed he`s going to photo shop his car going through an old school car wash with the heavy duty brushes just scratching away and I have to admit to giving him the idea.In closing even though the kid has thrown me under the bus on more than one occasion I will do what any good employee of AUTOGEEK would do and help to PURDY UP his ride.
PS. I told him to buy a mini-van due to the rate in which his family is growing.
