    Waxing bass boat metal flake surfaces ?

    Hi Mike,

    I recently purchased a PC 7424XP from Auto Geek. Along with using the PC on my truck, I want to use it for detailing my metal flake clear gelcoat finish bass boat. The finish on my bass boat is in very good condition. The finish has no oxidation, I'm just doing routine maintenance.

    Can you give me a idea of what speeds I should use on the PC for
    these type finishes for;
    1 - spreading wax or sealant products
    2 - applying waxes and sealants
    3 - removing waxes and sealants

    thx

    Re: Waxing bass boat metal flake surfaces ?

    Guys,

    As I stated in my original post this a question about routine waxing and sealing. My boats clear gelcoat finish is in good condition it has no swirls or oxidation.

    This is the first time I'm using the 7424XP on my bass boat. I'm just unsure about the speed setting to use on the 7424XP and don't want to do something wrong to hurt the gelcoat.

    Thx

    Speed 2 or 3 apply/spread. Remove by hand with a good microfiber.

    You would have a very hard time hurting the gelcoat with your PC just applying waxes. Gelcoat is very resilient. Just don't drop the unit itself on the gel though...that might not work so well!

    I use the blue 5.5" LC CCS pads for wax application on my boat. I use my PC at speeds of about 3-4. Like bigdaddy said, remove with a good microfiber.
