    Gunpowder stain removal?

My brother just purchased a 2004 gmc yukon . In the cargo area there is what appears and smells like gunpowder on the carpet . The collor of the carpet is light grey . The stain does not appear to be messed with yet and if you touch it it gets on your finger . I've never messed with getting gunpowder out of carpet or clothing before (if that is what the stain ). He has called the recent owner to see if in fact that is what it is . But just wondering if you guys have any info . I will try to get a pic soon .

I've handled and burned a bunch of gunpowder. Never cleaned it out of carpet though. Assuming its just spilled, it should vacuum right up. If it has gotten wet, then the chemicals that make it go boom may have leeched out of the carrier and may stain (?). The rare spills around my press came right up like dust with the shop vac.

Oh boy that looks bad, you may have to bring out the big guns like brake cleaner or thinner.
If all purpose cleaner doesn't do anything spray it with brake cleaner as you vacuum it then towel dry it some more.
If that doesn't work I would spray it with light gray carpet dye

I'd give Folex with some terry towels a whirl. Folex is the shizzle!
