removing minor scratches from chrome?
I have chrome nerf bars on my truck. They have minor scratches on them from use. Is it possible to remove these and if so with what?

Re: removing minor scratches from chrome?
The metal polishes commonly used on chrome are effective for cleaning and brightening the surface. Removing scratches is a different challenge that does not have a generally accepted solution. Here is a post from guru Mike Phillips that provides some insights on this topic:

Basically everything Mike says in the other thread.
The only thing I would add is that I would glaze the entire chrome area. Perhaps (and it is a long shot) that if you make everything else so bright noone else will see the scratch. However, you also run the risk of drawing attention to the defect. But glaze is super easy to remove.

Thanks, pretty much what I thought. I read Mike's thread.
