sticky steering wheel ?

might sound like a wierd thing, or an even harder question to answer, but....


on my 78 i noticed it was REALLY sticky for some unknown reason to me, so i was wondering if there was anything i could use to make it touchable again without having to buy a cover for it...


the best answer i can come up with as far as why its sticky is i think it had the "cushoining" like alot of newer cars have in the wheel...and over time it just deteriorated....

I've found that once those start to deteriorate there's nothing to be done. Either cover it or replace it.
