    Winter/salt protection

I recently bought an 08 F150 and want to make sure the paint is protected during this coming winter. The goal here is to prepare it now, and not do much more than a pressure wash to keep the salt off. I currently use various Meguires products for my "summer" car, and use Wolfgang 3.0 sealant. I have read that people have much success with the Collinite 845. The whole goal here is durability until April. Any suggestions as to which wax/sealant i should go with?

    Thanks

I like 845 or 915!!! Either one on top of the WG would be even better!!

For a sealant I use Menzerna Power-Lock Paint Sealant then top it with Collinite 845.

    Re: Winter/salt protection

According to Collinite, their longest lasting wax is 476S. That is what I am using on both of my cars this year over top of sealants. By the way, I have heard horror stories about how difficult 476S is to work with. I would say it was not the easiest to buff off, but it was not that bad either. In fact, KSG was much, much harder to buff off.

I'm surprised more people don't go with the Klasse twins.

    Re: Winter/salt protection

I've used KAIO > KSG +3 for two winters and it's good. I also slip on a QD whenever I can wash it, either a warmish day or rinseless wash in the garage. Last year I added WGDGPS over the top which gave a deeper shine and some more protection. Either way I'm still beading nicely come spring. This year I'm being bolder, I'm going with just the WG and I'm throwing a coat of Pinnacle LS on top. Right now in fact... Gotta go.
