Give me a break, Shawn. I'm old enough to be your grandfather, so... what the heck does that mean, good or bad?
If that's an insult, I noticed that you waited until Rich Evans was safely on a plane to SoCal! LOL! Hey, I know that hockey players are tough, but that dude could take you and me both in a fair one! (Hope you know I'm only joking, Sully!)
Man, I loved the Rich Evans Designs Mustang. He is incredibly talented and a very nice guy.

John to me its to much. It look like it came out of one of the Fast and Furious movies.
Urban Dictionary: rice
Plus I would of liked to see what was under the hood

Why do people have to use that term to denote something they don't like? It's just so demeaning and insulting to people like myself who happen to be Asian American.
I pray to God that my kids won't have to put up with the kinds of stereotypical insults that I've had to put up with over the years.

I concur.......hopefully by the time your kids are adult age sterotypes will die off just that much more as the people who use them do....

FWIW, RICE is an acronym for "Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement". The term is used to describe a vehicle that has been modded to look fast even though it is likely a base model with no actual performance parts. Any vehicle and persons of any race are subject to being a "ricer". I'm sure that who ever coined the term didn't have the most politically correct intentions but as far as I'm concerned the term RICE has LITTLE to do with RACE

Without that comma, at first I thought you were saying something incredibly rude LOL.

Re: Detail Fest 5 pics
The term may have little to do with race, but the perceived correlation, whether intentional or not, is there. I do understand where you're coming from and it's nice that you knew the word to be an acronym, but I seriously doubt most people who use the word in that context would know and that's the problem I have with it.

I didn't mean to hurt anyones feelings or offend anyone. I have been using that term for year and it never caused any problems. Im sorry if a offended anyone with that comment.

Re: cars and food
Okay, I've cleaned up the other thread and moved all the off-topic posts to a new, dedicated thread for cars and food since you were taking about cars and food.
We don't delete threads on this forum but sometimes for the good of the forum we will move a thread to the Moderator's forum group if it's not contributing anything positive to the overall forum community.
I think that wold best describe an appropriate action for this thread but I'll let you all decide and let me know.

Ha! You honestly think stereotypes will die off? Existing stereotypes may die off but I guarantee you one thing, there will be new ones to replace them that will be equally offensive to one group or another. It's the sad reality of human nature in societies -- anyone who isn't like them will be described via gross generalizations.
That said, I only wish you were right. Stereotypes usually don't do much good for anyone.
