    Fine scratches in windshield

Now that I'm finally getting my tax return I wanted to clean up my front windshield. There are a lot of fine scratches about everywhere the wipers touch.

Before I bought something new I wanted to know if I could the polishes I already have like poorboys ssr or menzerna. Or do I have to buy something like this Professional Glass Polishing System

And one last question, do those glass kits really work?

    Thanks for any help

I was searching, and as you can see I am new here, but I did fine some info on using menz sip with a polishing pad on the windows...I wonder if someone else will chime in with some experience using menz

I am in the same boat as you on this one though.

Yeah it will work just fine...the SIP...just make sure to start off with a white pad. If you need more correcting, then move up to the orange then back down to the white, then finish off with a finishing polish and a blue pad.

Hello as for the Menz i'am not sure of that but i remember a guy coming into my dealership he does full glass repair but i noticed he was using a over the counter polish.I know i won't spell the name right but what it is like it comes in a package like SOS,or Comet it called something like barsomie it is a very fine powder it should be on the same shelf as the Comet i will try and do a google for it .Just don't use Comet or SOS LOL

    Re: Fine scratches in windshield

so where does the original polishing pad that the pc comes with rank among the ccs pads? i have not been able to find that information anywhere?

basically treat the windows just like the rest of the car as your procedure is equivalent to what we do when using menz products on the paint?

sorry to steal the thread, just wanting to make sure menz sip or nano is ok to use on windows.

    Thank you Josh

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Give it a shot. The white pad is garbage lol.

    Re: Fine scratches in windshield

I have no experience with the removal of scratches from windshields, but everything I have read suggests that they are very difficult to effectively and safely remove. See especially Mike Phillip's discussion of this question. But also see Todd Helme's account of his windshield polishing for a contrary view.
