Mr Clean magic eraser
Hey have a couple questions here, I used a magic eraser to clean the interior of my brothers truck I purchased from him. Door panels were dirty, bottom of dash area, door kick panels. It cleaned real well, is it safe to use the eraser on the interior to clean it up instead of a apc? I also used it to try on the rims just a small section just to see how it cleans, did it clean, they are clear coated is it safe on them to use because they are very dirty just trying somethin new? Thanks any information needed.

they are very mildly abrasive, which is how they make things "erase", so be careful!

I use them on the kick panels (plastic) specifically. I do wash them out quite well first, as some seem to have cleaners and leave a white residue otherwise.

I use them very sparingly on interiors. Not as a general cleaner but as a tool to remove stubborn spots only. Like dengood1 said, be careful. I wouldn't use them on wheels.

I second this, they are like sandpaper if mis -used

They are a great tool but must be used with respect. It will strip the dye out of plastic if a heavy handed approach is used. I used one today to get a stain out of a new Lexus kick panel and it worked fine. I have seen where it has stripped the colour out so you just need to be careful, that's all.

Hah, actually they were giving them away at the house and home show up here, and I snagged a bunch for free. They're GREAT for interiors, I cleaned up the inside of a Crown Vic taxi, it had 550,000 km on it, a lot of the grease that megs apc 8:1 couldn't remove, the eraser did.
Turtle wax F21 dressing and it shines well.

Re: Mr Clean magic eraser
I agree with what most have said about the Magic Erasers. I just used one for a Lexus kick panels and rear seat panels. It worked great! I do think they are expensive. I was in Myrtle Beach last month and went into a Fuller Brush Co. there. They had a huge box of knock off erasers 4 for a $1. I only bought 4. Then when I got home and used them on a detail they were great. So I called the company and ordered 50 for $19 shipping included. I thought this was a good deal. I'm very careful using them on leather. They will take the color out, but you can't beat them for removing ink, marker, lipstick, etc. I have not found anything that works as good or as easy. Be Gentle!
