    If Storm Troopers detailed cars...

I can't leave anything alone, and that includes my polishers! With the progression of my company over this past year, I am excited to move into a new location which will enable me to take my detailing to a new level! That being said, everything is bright white! The walls, ceiling, and even my buddy's new snap-on toolbox!
I suppose I had to contribute as well!

Paint is Ford Oxford White I had left over from a hood I sprayed earlier this year. Enjoy!

    Very cool!

I’d love to see a distressed/battle-worn paint job on a polisher in a X-Wing theme.

    Can you share the process?

What did you have to do to prep the plastic?

Those look awesome! I like that a LOT. I also like the white, clean look of a shop. those will fit in perfectly.

Thanks for the replies! I like doing a little something to stand out, and I'm not a fan of red (no offense Flex).

Distressed look would be cool- I actually considered trying my hand at hydrodipping them a cool pattern- maybe in the future!

Process was pretty straightforward. Broke everything down in about 10 minutes (they come apart so easily, even the XFE). All the parts took 2 baths in ZEP fast 505 and were agitated with a demoted toothbrush. After rinsed in warm water, they were left to dry. The next day, I wiped everything down with wax/grease remover, then tack cloth, then sprayed 2 light/medium coats of bulldog adhesion promoter. IR flash-cured between coats. 3 light coats of base, 2 coats of clear, and then reassembly! I think I used about 120g of base and maybe 200g of clear on all the parts.

All the lines (except one line on the PE14...doh!) were masked with 1/4" vinyl blue tape and came out cleanly. I used standard yellow tape on the one "hard line" on the PE14 (IDK why I did this), but it bleed a little bit onto the black soft grip. Not a huge deal, but noticeable.

The last step is waiting to hear back from a FLEX rep as to if I can purchase some OEM "Made in Germany" stickers. I think that would really seal the deal nicely!

Nice work and it will look great at the new shop! It's the little things that do it.

Got me thinking on do something with my polisher lol
