2005 Neon SRT4 and 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

    Hello everyone,

My name's Mike, from Lexington SC. Been detailing for about 9 years. Been lurking for a while and this is my first actual post. Figured I would post some of the work I just accomplished over my vacation. Both vehicles are mine, the Neon I bought about 6 years ago and is 12 years old and still has factory paint. The Jeep, I just picked up in April. Both are awesome daily drivers and it makes it hard to decide which one to take some times haha. Figured I would post a few pics of each and the processes that got them to this point.

    Starting with the Neon
Started by washing with Duragloss 901, my hands down favorite car wash that I've found. Makes a ton of suds and is super slick. Then moved to decontamination using Poorboys World iron remover then a really good rinsing and moved to Adam's synthetic clay bar using my old school Wolfgang foam gun to lube the paint. Washed again before drying with a electric leaf blower and microfiber drying towel. Next started polishing, I corrected the paint a year and a half ago so didn't need to go to crazy. Used a Adam's microfiber fast finishing pad, Meguiars 201, and my Flex3401. The 201 and Adam's fast finishing microfiber pad worked great together and finished very clear. After doing the whole car panel by panel blowing out the pad in between to keep residue down. Moved to sealing and waxing. Used Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant combined with a Lake Country CCS pad. Again I have to say, perfect combo. The CCS pad holds the sealant in very well letting you really apply super thin coat of the sealant. Let the sealant cure roughly an hour then began to wipe down. Removing the sealant was suuuuppppeer easy. Also when putting the sealant on, i switched over to the old standby Porter Cable 7424xp. I like applying coatings, sealant, etc. with the 7424 since its lighter and smaller. After, the car sat for an 12 hours I moved to apply a coat of wax and decided to go to Blackfire Midnight Sun wax. I applied with a yellow wax applicator pad. Wax went on super easy. A word to the wise, apply the wax super thin. The stuff is tough to remove if applied thick, but once I started using less product and the job got easier and easier. Engine was cleaned using Majestic Solutions all purpose cleaner and a little Chemical Guys Silk Shine dressing, both products work great. I like the Silk dressing if applied very, very lightly. Interiors were cleaned using Majestic Solutions leather and plastics cleaner, also very reliable product and leaves no residue on either material. Conditioned all leather with Adam's leather condtioner.

On to the Jeep, followed pretty much the same steps as above, but only needed to re-polish the roof, black door trim, and rear spoiler as I did a light correction on the paint as soon as I got the car and it has stayed mint. When I got the Jeep I removed the front Jeep badging and Grand Cherokee badges down the front doors. For that I used the fishing line and 3M eraser wheel. No complaints about the wheel on this particular vehicle.

Let me know what you think and feel free to shoot me any questions about the products or steps I used.

Nice work. I've had my SRT4 since 2008 and it's nice to see another clean one. Most around here are owned by kids and look like $hit.

True lol. I haven't seen many around here at all. I used to live in Ohio and they were everywhere. I think that's why I'm so attached to it. You don't see many in the shape that mine is in. Usually you see them all clapped out, beaten on, and dumped. You got anything done to yours?

I've been on a stock wheel Stage 3 setup tuned on e85 since 2012, making 380whp/440wtq and runs high 11s @ 124ish mph. How about you?
