So it's a dc motor. The brushes ride on a commutator.They ride in the same track just opposing sides of the commutator. When you change a brush you change them both. When you do you can blow compressed air inside to get some of the dust out. That will help the brushes. Dust is like sandpaper to carbon brushes. Also when you have the port open shine a light in and see what the commutatot looks like. If it's blued or has streaking or grooving. That is a huge indicator that it isn't running optimally and has a power issue. The commutator will look like a solid piece of copper but it will have a thin layer of Formica in between all of them

if i could only have one polisher this would probably be it. with the right products and pads there really isn't much the GG6 can't do. with the latest (evergrowing) technology in car care these days, i think we are spoiled compared to what limited resources were available many years ago...
