What Product to use on good paint?
Hello. I have a 69 Plymouth GTX with show quality paint. The car underwent a rotisserie restoration which was completed about 2011. Thepaint was (and mostly still is) flawless. I have never waxed the car and it hasbeen washed maybe once a year. The car has been driven 1200 miles since 2012. Iwas looking at the paint and I believe it needs some work. Just something tofresh it up. There are no swirl marks or holograms but there are somefine scratches and water marks. The surface feels rough to the bare hand and I’msure it could be clayed. I’m not sure what type of polish to use on this car.It was painted with base/clear. I have Griots products (BOSS) and pads. I wasthinking BOSS finishing sealant or Griots complete polish. I will be usingGriots 6 inch RO. Your thoughts

Sounds like you’ve got a plan.
I’d do a waterless / rinsless wash, clay with “fine” poly clay (Pinnacle) and use the yellow pads on the BOSS with the finishing sealant. Then use a BOSS black pad and spread some BF Fusion or Pinnacle Souveran paste wax on that GTX.

I agree with the above. I think a fully restored car like that deserves a wax on top like souveran, or the Wolfgang fusion wax. A little bias here since there's nothing wrong with any of the above but my personal favorite wax is pinnacle black label synergy so I would suggest that after using a good finishing polish.

Sound like you're thinking this right. Believe you have all you need.
And also agree with what was said above...
Rinse less wash
clay
light or fine polish
Sealant or wax

Wow!
Awesome looking color....
Since you already have the BOSS system then I'd stick to the BOSS Finishing Sealant, basically it's a very light cutting cleaner/wax or cleaner/sealant since the protection is synthetic based and not wax based.
Do the Baggie Test after wiping a section of the hood or trunk lid clean,
The Baggie Test as seen on Competition Ready TV with AJ and Mike Phillips
IF you feel bumps then "yes" clay the paint. The MOST common place to get overspray paint on a car is while the car is being painted at a body shop.

Griot's makes great products. Their BOSS Finishing Sealant is in my opinion a very nice product. It uses top shelf abrasive technology and because it will polish and seal the paint in one-step you can remove minor defects and create a true show car finish in one step.

I would like to thank everyone who replied. I was leaning toward the finishing sealant just wanted to not be too aggressive. I have a Griots G15 RO. Would that be a better machine to use (instead of the 6 inch). I'll be using the 5.5 BOSS pads. Again thank you everyone for your input (and kind words about the car)
