    Gauge and dash cleaning?

What do you guys suggest for streak & scratch free cleaning of the dash and in particular, any plastic covering(s) on the gauges (tach, speedometer)??

I was thinking something like lens cleaner (as used for eyeglasses) and proper tissue

Tissue will scratch. Use a MF towel.

the tissue I was going to use is Kimwipe which is the standard for cleaning delicate optics. Or Zeiss lens cleaner for eyeglasses.

Point taken on using a MF.

Yes sir. The plastics used on the gauge lens are super soft. They will scratch just looking at them.

Another new product you can look into...

What ever you use, do not, I repeat do not wipe the gauge lens with a dry cloth.

The problem is only partly the cloth - its mostly the grit that's all over the plastic. I've had good luck using a swifter sister (the poofy blue or yellow thing, not the white cloth) first. I use a meguairs plastic detailer on cotton or MF to get it super clear as soon as it's grit free

Are you sure Kimwipe is ok for plastic? Most optics are glass and won't scratch as easy. Also, I was under the impression most of these higher end wipes were more geared to prevent lent.
