    Re: Dressing longevity?

When it comes to longevity the dressings I've had the most success with was Tuf Shine Tire Clearcoat.

For me PERL left a white residue on tires at 1:1. Haven't experimented with other dilutions yet.

303 Aerospace works well and seems to last a few washes.

CG VRP isn't too bad, CG Natural leaves streaks after a rain and doesn't hold up the best. But looks great at first.

    So.....many....dressings...lol

Tuff Shine isn't a dressing, it's a coating.. It'd be like comparing carnauba wax to a paint coating.

Well I use it like one, I use it on my tires, trim, mirror bodies, you name it. Literally, the application process for TUf Shine on my trim is just like dressings. Apply, wait a little, buff. Done.

    Re: Dressing longevity?

I'm just throwing this out there, why "mess" with gels and dressings when tire coatings are so readily available here and outside of AG?

Clean tire, swipe on an initial coat, dries to the touch in about 10 minutes and then apply a 2nd coat and its dry in 10 minutes. After that, small amounts to maintain that "just applied" look or reapply in about 4-6 weeks. Towards the end you "might" start seeing Browning of the tires too, maybe.

    NO SLING...EVER!

For exterior rubber and plastic trim I wholeheartedly agree coatings are the way to go. Tires, not so much. The variance in types of tire rubber made tire coatings a non-starter for me. After applying a tire coating to three different brands of rubber and getting three different results, I went back to a water based dressing (Duragloss 253). It doesn't sling, and while the longevity varies widely based on rubber type, the ease of use makes it not a big deal and they all look good.

For me, I can dress each tire in less than a minute every couple of washes and keep them looking good. The time, effort, and expense is far less than having to hunt down a tire coating that will work with each tire on my vehicles.
