    Re: Sealant suggestions

To answer your question, there are several excellent Sealants on the market, I think it comes down to taste when choosing.

For me, if I want a sealant I can apply by machine, my go to is PowerLock.

If I want to use a spray Sillica sealant, then I use Reload.

And if I want a quickwax to either dry the car or act as a topper, then I use Meguiars' Express Quick wax (D156).

    All 3 are excellent products.

I'm sure it's a bit of both. However I have taken Jetseal through the winter alone with no issues. Just re applied half way through the season. It gets hot in the summer here but not like Arizona hot and those temps are really the only test I have not done with JS.

But I don't really use sealants any longer, this was my experience from the years prior.

To be honest, they're all similar in longevity- after 4-6 months, it's hard to identify exactly what causes a product's performance to drop off. So to say one lasts longer than another is misleading at that point. Maybe one saw an extra heavy handed wash in those months. Or another saw an episode of salt on the road.

Obviously FK takes a little more time when applying. And it's the most glass-y or mirror like shine. It also self-cleans the best (with a pressure wand). PL darkens paint the most. I prefer the application of PL over the McKees due to product consistency (it's thinner). But McKee's is just a nice balance of all desired characteristics one likes to have in an LSP. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I realized after some time I was taking too long in the waxing process so I'm just looking for something to help reduce my time spent waxing.

You could always get the liquid version of ultimate wax. Won't stain trim either.

Basically any sealant sold through autogeek is good. You are going to get many recommendations as everyone has their favorites.

I have to get doing something wrong with fk1000p because I just don't get the results I hear everyone rave about. I don't get the super glossy look I always hear people claim. Maybe I need to let it set longer then 20 mins. How long are you letting it sit for before you remove it?
