Re: Hard decision made tonight.
I am so sorry to hear your news, Paul and my thoughts and prayers are with you. For those of us who have been through the same hard decision it is never easy but the wonderful memories are a comfort with due time.
I think of all of us here as family and grief felt by you is grief in me. Let us help you, in as little help we can provide, get beyond this and to a happier place.

My condolences. I know someday (many years from now) I'll have to face a similar situation and I have no idea how I'll handle it. The only losses I've ever cried over were all dogs. I'd sooner lose some of my immediate relatives rather than my dog.

Very sorry to hear, positive vibes your way. The one bad day doesn't overtake the 15 years of good memories though.

Paul,
I just now saw this post. My deepest sympathies to you and yours. It's amazing how empty a house can feel at the loss of a dog. I hope the wounds have been replaced by happy memories.

Re: Hard decision made tonight.
So sorry to read this. Putting down a dog is one of the hardest things to do. I know that nothing about this feels good, but please take some consolation in knowing you two are doing the right thing for your pet. I'm sure she had a great life with you.

Re: Hard decision made tonight.
Thanks a lot, guys. Means a lot to me.
It's been right about 2 months since she's been gone. We are all doing well, and the other dogs seem to have adjusted well.
A great friend of mine took a picture of Koa that I had sent her and turned it into a really nice refrigerator magnet. Now, I get to see her every time I grab a beer. (So a lot.) Lol
Really appreciate the thoughts, guys.

Thanks my man.
And yup, you are right. My wife was born in Hawaii (her dad was stationed there while in the Air Force) and she also went back after living elsewhere to attend college. She had a bowl set made out of koa wood, and it was amazing-looking. So, we decided on "Koa" based on that.

Well, if my Koa was any indication, she's gonna be a nut bag then.

Good to hear. Many people don't get that dogs experience a big sense of loss as well. Years ago had two dogs and had to put one down. They'd spent abut 11 years together. After she was gone the other one sat in front of the door all day for ~two weeks. He just stared at it. He was waiting for her to come home.
