Re: Simple Duragloss question
In order of cleaners, least to most:
111
101
105
501
If topping any of the above without the use of 601 Polish Bonding Agent, allow 12 hours minimum cure time.

Re: Simple Duragloss question
501 is a wonderful cleaner if applied with a DA.

Re: Simple Duragloss question
I like the 101. It has a nice wet look after you remove.
I like DG products because they work well, doesn't cost an arm and leg and goes on and comes off easy.

The 101 sadly gets overlooked. Looks fantastic, and extremely durable. I also like that it has enough cleaners in it to eliminate the IPA step after final polishing.

Re: Simple Duragloss question
As the legend goes... the Bailey Brothers had a couple of sharp, classic mustangs that they showed every now and then. They got tired of the hassle of getting them looking their best with the process of waxing and the mess that went with high end "waxes" at that time. So Dr. Bill, the chemist, decided he would come up with a better and easier way to make their cars look the best. The legend has it that Dr. Bill had already come up with the formula for one of the most widely used auto detailing products of the time, so it was no problem to look at the problem "outside the box" and utilize different chemistry and processes to solve the problem. Hence, "Duragloss, The Wet Look Polish & Cleaner #101."
I was fortunate to be nearby when Brothers Research began marketing products and got #101 for my 1976 280Z & then ZX sports cars. It was fantastic. Definitely has the "Wet Look."
All that said...my experience is that #101 looks fantastic, but does not have the longevity of the newer developed Total Performance Polish. #101 does have more cleaning ability than TPP #105.

101 by itself may not be sufficient protection but use it as a base layer and cleanse and spiff up the paint and then slap on 111 or any other sealant like Powerlock or M21, it forms a great base layer. I was using 105 until I found out 101 can serve my purpose better.
I am pretty impressed with Duragloss for price/performance. If someone doesn't like to spend too much money on detailers, I'd recommend them Duragloss products because they don't cost much.
