Re: Help needed on shadow black Mustang GT dealer installed swirls
Thanks everyone for your input. I found the right combination.
I used a Megs MT300
5800 opm
5 inch soft buff yellow polishing pad
Ultimate polish
Extremely slow movement with the polisher was the missing step. I slowed it way down as demonstrated in the DAS6 vid above and the results were amazing.

Yes sir. Much appreciated saved me a step and no one likes to be more aggressive on their paint than necessary.

Re: Help needed on shadow black Mustang GT dealer installed swirls
The reason I haven't been on is I've been using all my free time to work on it after work. I ended up needing to cut so I used the microfiber cutting pads and D300 as I just got the kit to try and it cut nicely. Wasn't real impressed with the finishing though but that's another topic. After cutting. I used UP the foam polishing pad on 4800 opm which worked amazingly. I'm at about 95% at this point and blown away with the results. I'll post a before and after to try and illustrate the difference. Unfortunately some of the areas were too severe to be solely handled by UP so that's why I decided to cut. All in all for the cost of the UP it's an excellent product. Pics to follow shortly. Thanks very much for the help and follow up

Thanks for update hate to hear that you had to go back to compounding. hopefully you can just spot compound and not have to do the whole car that way. When I did my 15 Accord I was able to get really good results with a microfiber cutting pad and M205 polish. Still using about 4 to 6 passes .. the first 2 or 3 would be heavy pressure where its spinning about once per second and the other 2 to 3 passes would be light pressure .. to where it would just barely slow down to help finish it out. That worked out really good. Realllly didnt need to go over it with a white pad and ultimate polish after that .. but I did quickly
looking forward to the before and after pics too!

For sure 4 to 6 passes and with the DA applying wax is a breeze. For some reason I can't upload the photos. I get the error message "upload failed" anyone else ever have this problem.

ya what I ended up doing was putting them on something like photobucket or imgur ... and then just ad the urls with the [img] [/img] tags

I hope this works but here are a few before and after. They aren't the best quality but I wanted to show up close how swirled the entire car was and the restored gloss after the process.
