I initially used S100 motorcycle cleaner for the first cleaning:
You spritz it on a cool engine, and scrub around a little with a sponge. I used the hose on mist to rinse it off, being careful of the under-hood electrical. It left a nice clean shiny look without being greasy. To maintain it, I wipe the engine bay down with a microfiber cloth after every wash and occasionally will use Meguiar's Ultimate Black to dress the plastics. The S100 did a really nice job, and I only used a little bit of it. I have enough left to do my car for the next 50 years!
Nice car. But why are the windows up at a car show?
I like to leave the hood and trunk shut until judging. I think the car looks better all buttoned up like it would be moving down the road, and it looks better to me with the tinted windows rolled up. That photo was right after I touched up the car; thus the hood and trunk open.
