2014 Porsche Cayenne
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to detail this 2014 Porsche Cayenne. To say I had my work cut out for me was an understatement...after lot's of test spots looking for the right formula, I finally settled on "them all" We used all the polishers in the arsenal and multiple assortment of pads from wool to microfiber and of course my favorite foam...there was even some wet sanding to get this ride back to its proper form.
Up first were the tires, using DP Tire and Rubber Restorer, Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner and Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel
Upon examination of the paint, it was obvious this was going to be a long day.
Next up was DP Foam Suds, Pinnacle Clay and Lube
Instantly you can see the difference in the paint after the clay step has been completed. The vehicle was then prepped with tape and put under a tent for some shade. Very hot yesterday in Boston.
Paint thickness gauge readings were stable
Heres the pile of polishers for the mission at hand
I just got this Scangrip series of lights. They are quite expensive, but they are VERY high quality. Love how light and portable they are. You can see every tiny defect.
The boss is the BOSS. After compounding the car with an assortment of LC wool, Meguires Microfiber, and LC Foam pads, we had success! After compounding, we moved to Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish with a white LC Flat pad.
Showing off a little bit...that shine is getting intense
Next up was the LSP, I gave my discounted Wolfgang Fuzion a shot. This is good stuff!!!!
Next we moved into the inside...I think a sheep was hiding out in the rear of this thing.
A pumice stone and pet hair brush came in very handy
Next we moved into the cabin. Dash was wiped down then Pinnacle Interior Coating was applied. As always it never disappoints.
Heres some final exterior shots
As always thanks for viewing. Comments always appreciated.

Great job as usual. Do you use a new clay bar for each detail?

Awesome job! What paint thickness gauge did you use? And what program/software to record thickness readings/notes?

Nice Job, how do you like the purple wool and how much more cut does it have than the mf ? Looking for something with more cut on rock hard clearcoats where even mf does seem to cut it enough

It has exceptional cut but they are such a mess to work with.
1. They finish horribly
2. They spray wool all over the place
I use them for spot work where there's no other option. 1 or 2 panels at most (hopefully)
