    2002 Camaro Z28 Coated

I have to thank Kevin (KMG) for answering my questions on Ameriarmour. He was very helpful in prepping myself for using this coating. I had no issues using this. It was my first time applying a paint coating. A little went a long way. I still have a little more than half the bottle remaining even after applying 2 coats per the manufacturers recommendations.

I did not take a lot of before photos. I was focused on getting this thing done as it's a daily driver.

This belongs to my dad. I mentioned to him that this would be something of an early fathers day gift. I was just teasing him.

I was looking for something that is more durable, longer lasting protection and somewhat less maintenance than a sealant since this is his daily driver that sits outside 24/7.

Originally I was not going to compound it but it was a good opportunity to remove the deeper coin op brush marks he put on it 2-3 years ago after I had corrected the paint. The paint on this car is on the very hard side. I tried a test spot with Meguiar's M205 and D300 on the new burgundy foam cutting disc. Both did pretty good but it was not what I wanted for this car. So I ended up going with Meguiar's D300 and the microfiber cutting disc. I've used this in the past so I know it works. This did what I wanted. It actually finished LSP ready with this combo but I decided to polish and get as much gloss as I could. I ended up using Ameridepth on the Meguiar's foam finishing disc.

I did remove the rear spoiler to correct the trunk underneath it and to give me access to the underside of the spoiler. That was my test area for applying the coating.

It took me roughly 15 hours give or take to get this done.

I started off by using this wash method written by Mike Phillips. It's such a time saver.

The Aggressive Approach to Washing a Car - Auto Geek Online Auto Detailing Forum

Wash: Adams Foam gun + Adams Car Shampoo + 2 bucket
Paint Decon: Ironx, Clay Magic Clay Bar, Nanoskin Fine Grade sponge, D155 Last Touch. The clay bar still worked better.
Compound: D300 + DAMF cutting discs
Polish: Ameridepth + Foam Finishing Discs
    Paint Prep: Car Pro Eraser
LSP: Ameriarmour Nano Glass Coating by Americana Car Care
Tools: PC7424XP dedicated small pad machine, Meguiar's MT300

    Wheels: Meguiar's D143 Non-Acid Wheel & Tire Cleaner
Tires: Meguiar's D143 Non-Acid Wheel & Tire Cleaner, Meguiar's Ultimate Black Tire Coating

Exhaust Tips: Meguiar's Fine Cut Metal Polish, Wolfgang Concourse Metal Sealant

Trim: D103 APC+, Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant

This is the only before photo I have lol. It's of the sail panel.

Afterwards out in the sun a day later. Angle of the sun was a little too much for my phone to focus.

One of the roof. Angle of the sun got me here as well.

The rear spoiler. The angle again.

These was taken yesterday after I finished.

I took these this morning. Was a little too sunny. You can see the reflection of my junk pile on the driver side rear quarter panel.

Mine waiting it's turn. I will more than likely being coating my Camaro as well.

I only have a couple things left to do, which is coating the glass with Detailer's Pro Glass Coating and wheels with Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Wheel Coating. I'll get to those in the next week or so as I have some caliper decals for the front calipers that need to be installed.

The paint coating is very slick. Much more than any sealant I have used. My dad was excited and impressed. He told me that he doesn't want to drive it now lol. We shall see how well the coating holds up.

Looks great for a car with about 110K miles. My dad is the second owner with the previous owner being a young woman who took very good care of it.

Very nice. Just remind pops not to use the brush at the coin op anymore.

Thanks. I told him that long ago after he told me he went. He now washes at home.
