    As good as it gets?

My parents got a new car, so naturally I wanted to "play" with it. From the equipment I have at my disposal, the paint looks factory flawless (which was surprising) and this was the product of what I did (wash, clay, wax). Would a car without swirls or anything benefit from 1 step polishing? I haven't gotten to use my PC much and I'm looking for any excuse to!

I don't see how hitting the vehicle with a finishing polish would hurt. It will probably boost the shine a little if nothing else.

If I was to run a clay bar over the surface, I'd polish it anyway just to make sure any marring for the clay is removed.

I would give it a polish, might be surprised how much more gloss you can get out of it.

I'd go with M205 or Ultimate Fine polish for OTC if you'd prefer, their new polishing pads and why not get an extended amount of protection with their Paint Protect 365.

Also, if you have any questions you could call their customer service.

You would be surprised how much of an improvement in gloss even a brand new vehicle will have following a light polish.

Yeah I would go over it again with Iron X first
and then give it a light Polish.

As the others said. Iron-X it and polish it before you seal it up.

Thanks for all the replies! While I was outting the wax on, my led shop light was in the perfect position for me to see long scratches down the length of the car. Turns out the "flawless paint" has been tarnished from the bushes down the side of the driveway. They are bothering me, but my parents think im crazy and cant see what im showing them. I guess thats the curse of the detailers eye! I need a good wax and ironx, luckily the memorial day sale is just in time!
