Pretty Kitty (F type) Dressed In Her Finest

My Lincoln looks like crap right now. Multiple chips, light scratches..the works. This is as bad as it has ever looked. This weekend was my time to take some "me" time for my car...that was until I got a call about a fellow with a brand new (2016) F series Jag who wanted it coated. I, once again, put off the Lincoln so I could work on this automotive statement of beauty. I lusted over this car at the Detroit Auto Show and couldn't wait to get my hands on it! I steered him towards Finest and was looking forward to its arrival. Here's how it looked when I got it after several days of rain around here:

Oh, and the wheels on this car were originally silver. The dealership has a local guy who is mobile and does great wheel work. I've heard of him. He painted these black. Wait till you see them coated!!

Some tar issues to deal with:

Hard to tell whether they're chrome under here or not??

It also has this cool little spoiler. I had him show me how to raise it so I could coat underneath as well.

The only flaw I could find was some light scuffs on the rear bumper:

This was not going to be a wheels off detail, so the first step up was to wash the wheels.
The wells were cleaned with LATA.
The tires were cleaned with Zep 505.
The barrels were cleaned with Zep Citrus and my wheel woolie and Megs HW.
The faces were cleaned with a shot of Zep Citrus and Megs HW and a wash mitt.

The barrels and plastic wells were then shot with Permanon after being cleaned so they had some protection on them.

The car then got sprayed with Tarminator in the areas that needed it. The car was first washed with Megs HW and then a second time to remove contamination using IronX paste and a wash mitt.

The car was brought in and clayed with a CarPro clay towel. That removed almost everything, a few spots needed my Riccardo blue.

It was then blown off with the Master Blaster.

Now it was time to see what the paint would respond to the best. I wanted to try my new Megs burgandy pad again, but this time with a lighter polish to see how it did. There were no swirls or imperfections to deal with other than the back bumper, so it was just to amp up the shine and make it glow. I tried it with Reflect and then compared that to M205. M205 it was. I was happy with the combo of this pad and polish. Paint, head and tail lights were all polished. DG Squaky Clean was done by hand after the polishing to remove any oils to ensure proper bonding.

Here's a pic of the car after being polished only. No coating at this point. No tire dressing at this point. Only polishing and chemical cleaning:

The wheels got coated first. They got a double coat of CQF. Here is one late at night with only one coat so far:

The windshield got coated with a double coat of Fly-By-30. The glass roof and remaining glass were double coated with CQF. The paint, head and tail lights were double coated with CQF. The trim was coated with Dlux. The tires shot via air gun with Opti Bond. Here she is all done. In my opinion, this and the new Vette are the 2 sexiest cars on the road right now.

You can see the heavy cloud cover:

    Love the rear view too!!

The black wheels really improve the looks of the car, especially in white!

    Oh, yes it is!!!!

I'll be damned; they were chrome! (They were hand polished with M205 and coated as well)

    Wheels all done:

    Barrels looking good!

Is there a bad angle on this car? I don't think so:

    Scuff all gone:

Luckily the sun poked out right before he came, so I popped off one more shot:

He was a very happy camper. Off he goes....

It really was a pleasure to work on such a gorgeous car as this! Comments always appreciated.
