    2001 Ford Explorer Sport-Mercy Detail

This is a detail of a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport that I did this past week on vacation. The vehicle is my sisters and the reason that I call it a "mercy detail" is that the vehicle was in pretty bad shape. No disrespect to female drivers but my sister is a put gas in and turn the key type driver. Very low on the maintenance aspects if you know what I mean. The car was covered with tree sap and grime.

Since I was on vacation I wasn't rushed and really had the time to work on my rotary skills on this detail. Also having the vehicle color as white helped alot as well.

I also had the chance to mix some Polycharged UPP. WOW..talk leaving the finish slick. I swear I could have blown it off after applying. Removal was incredibly easy.

Process: Exterior 5.5 hours (Day One)

Wash with Foam Gun and NXT wash and Purple Power mix with LC Ulti Mitt
Clay with Clay Magic with Foam Gun
Polish with OP/OC mix via rotary with Sonus Green pad at 1200 rpm
LSP Polycharged UPP x2 on paint and wheels
NXT Tech Protectorant on exterior trim
Megs Exterior Trim Detailer spray on wipe cowl
Wheels cleaned with Megs Hot Rims Multi Piece Wheel Wash
Tires Dressed with Megs Hot Shine
Wheel Wells dressed with Street Appeal Tire Dressing
    Interior 3 hours (Day Two)

Clean with Mister Clean Magic Eraser and Woolite and Water
Leather dressed with Megs Gold Class Leather Conditioner/Cleaner
Vinyl dressed with Sonus Total Eclipse
Carpets cleaned and scrubbed with Tide/Oxy Clean mix

Well it would of been nice to see some before pics.. but it looks "brand new" right now! Perfection would be the key word here.

Great work the paint looks flawless. You must be getting really good with the rotary. I just ordered some UPP and have a white suburban so glad to see you make it look so good on white. Did you apply the UPP by hand or machine?

I've never used UPP, but like Surfer said it does indeed look good on that white. Good job!
