Thanks to Mike Phillips and AGO members-another trophy!
Prior to discovering AGO and the teachings of Mike Phillips, I would have never had the nerve to enter my "survivor" El Camino in any type of judged show. Mike's Single-Stage Paint restoration article was truly a game-changer for my once faded old lacquer. Combined with the knowledge of products and processes I've learned from the many helpful members here, I've managed once again this year to take home a trophy in the annual All-Chevy Show I enter, competing in the stock truck class against both newer daily drivers and full frame-off restos.
This year's prep included:
Three "passionate" hand rubs with Meg's M07 allowing overnight soaks on the first two.
Polishing with Meg's M80, Meg's yellow pad on a GG polisher.
Poorboy's Black Hole on all the darker paint
Sealed with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant
Topped with DP Max Wax
Collinite Metal Wax on all brightwork, interior, exterior and under the hood
DG 501 on all the plastic chrome
Tires, w/strips and bumper strips treated with PERL
Thanks to all the AGO members and the AG staff for all the information openly shared here.
And, of course, a very sincere thanks to Mike for sharing his wealth of knowledge.

Congrats on the El Camino, not only does the paint look stunning but the wheel choice just sets it off, especially the 67' Corvette caps!

It just turned over 120,000. I bought in 1993 with 100,000, being essentially rode hard and put away wet for it's first 6 years. The original lacquer has about every paint defect known to man:checking, crazing, chips, rids--but NO SWIRLS!

Nice ute! Congrats!
Post Scriptum - I suspect you don't use the El Camino like it was supposed to ("a vehicle to go to church on a Sunday and which can carry our pigs to market on Mondays") ...
